“I’ve never done a shoot before” , “omg i feel like I need to have a whole concept to book with you” , “do you only work with models???” // bro i will be the first person to tell you that none of that is relevant for a shoot with me (or any photographer in general). Most of the people I work with have little to no experience with “professional” photoshoots and are more nervous that they’ll look awkward instead of seeing it as a chance to be both safe + vulnerable and shown in a beautiful light. As long as you’re having fun, the pictures are gonna turn out awesome. And you don’t need an elaborate idea to book with me either, lmao some of my best work has come from me and a friend just taking random pictures out of boredom with no planning ahead of time. Just lmk that you wanna shoot and try your best to give a general idea of what you wanna go for and we can go from there!
Can I select the images after we finish shooting? Absolutely! After we finish shooting, I will send you watermarked versions of the photos within 1-2 days for you to choose from. I also offer the option to pick the photos myself if you have a hard time narrowing the photos down, whichever works best for you!
How long will it take before I receive my pictures? After sending me which pictures you would like to edit, you can expect to receive your photos back within 4-7 days. This turnaround time can be sped up to same day upon request as well.
Will you smoothen my skin and remove blemishes? Yes, 95% of my work has some form of retouching included. And if you would like me to leave the skin alone, that option is available as well, just let me know!
I would like to have a portrait session done but want more than 15 pictures, can I purchase additional images? Yes! I offer additional images for $20 per image.
Do I receive the copyrights to the photos? When it comes to the packages I have listed on my website, none of them include the copyrights to the photos. I am willing to sell them to you though once you specify what way you intend to use the photos. For example, if I were asked to shoot promotional work for your album, I would work out a license-agreement form in the event that you wanted to use my images for merchandise, billboards, etc.
Will you help me with posing? Yes! Being on the other side of the camera, I understand how important it is to make sure you work with someone who knows how to help with posing and making the people I work with feeling comfy to express themselves. Having plenty of experience shooting models, I have picked up on various poses that work for a wide range of people. (blasting your favorite songs and bringing friends always helps too)
Can I receive the raw, unedited photos as well? Yep yep, each raw image is going to cost $15
I have a specific style that I’d like to go for, could you shoot my photos differently? I am always open to try any ideas or concepts you may have! Just please make sure to communicate what you would like to shoot ahead of time. Unfortunately, I no longer have telepathy powers so just let me know so that I can prepare accordingly.
What kind of equipment do you use? The greatest camera of all time - the mind lmao
Can you hold a date for me? I can try my best but your date will not be officially secured until you send me the $50 deposit required for booking.
I had something important come up, can we reschedule? For sure! I try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to clients’ schedules. But if I am notified in a very short notice (such as 2 hours before) that you can’t make it, there will be an additional $20 fee attached to the total price of your shoot. If you plan on cancelling entirely, I need to be notified at least 48 hours ahead of the shoot to send you your refund for the deposit. I rent a lot of my equipment for shoots and need to know if it will be in use before you cancel.
What did you make your website on? Squarespace! They need to sponsor me honestly
Should we meet in person before we shoot? It is entirely up to you! I know that consulting with clients in person often makes them feel more comfortable when it comes to planning a shoot, especially if it is for a major event. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to. I don’t mind calling + facetiming clients as well if you’d like to talk it out that way.
Do you shoot in studio? Yep. Though I love shooting outside and in nature, sometimes I simply need to shoot in a controlled environment. You can book a studio shoot at an additional cost and view some of the work I’ve done in studio here!
Has your work ever been published? Of course (slight flex). I’ve had the honor of being featured in two print magazines so far. One was for the City Edition of the Memphis Flyer featuring my work covering the George Floyd Protests. The other was a spread in the second issue of one of my favorite (Nashville-based!) magazines V$NR, featuring some of my unreleased work celebrating Black culture alongside so many amazingly talented creatives.
I’d like to purchase prints from my shoot, is that something you offer? Yep, I offer prints in multiple sizes and even offer a premium photo book if you would really like to commemorate the occasion. Just ask me about it and we can talk about your options!
Do I need to do my own makeup? Not necessarily! If you would like me to handle the process of makeup, I can hire a local Makeup Artist (MUA) for you and have it handled at an additional cost.
